Among the most walkable areas in the metro. Many daily errands are doable on foot, and downtown is a walk or a short ride.

What's walkable: Colfax Avenue, East 17th Avenue in Uptown, Civic Center Park and the State Capitol area.

Approximate, at normal (non-rush) traffic. Rush hour, weekend mountain traffic and snow can add a lot.

Transit

Frequent RTD buses run along Colfax Avenue and other main streets, and downtown Denver is right next door.

What it's like

Dense, older and very urban: historic mansions, brick apartment buildings and condos on tree-lined streets. Uptown, along 17th Avenue, is a little quieter than Colfax.

What homes cost

Median sale price over the three months ending September 2026, as shown on Redfin in November 2026. Medians move every month and swing a lot where there are few sales.

Good fit if

People who want true city living, walking to most things, and one of the lowest entry prices in Denver (usually a condo).

Maybe not if

People who want a yard, a garage or a quiet street.
